Vintage clothing fits differently than modern clothing. The cut fits much closer to the body than modern clothing. For this reason, it is important that you allow enough room to move comfortably while wearing your vintage garment.
Vintage garments were often tailored to fit a woman in particular, and a lot of pieces show seam allowances, darts, and hem allowances. It is pretty possible to have a vintage garment altered to fit you if your measurements are a bit off. If you have any question about a piece in particular, please contact us and we will gladly answer you in a timely manner.
